The Long Train Ride On A Foggy Day. The Ride And The Train Both Seemed To Never End.

I Can Understand If This Is Not A Favorite Because It Was So Foggy That Day. Focus On The Train.

I found my eye followed the train to the vanishing point, which is cool how a train is designed for travel, and a static image can communicate that.

The train and following its length and motion is a good element. It gives a good leading line and perspective.

The skye takes still 1/3 of the picture so it can not be neglected entirely, sorry! The sky looks washed out and boring imho... The rain itself does not really add to the composition, it is just what was that day.

The composition could also be improved ie by having this taken from a slightly different angle/position. Now there is a pole and other distracting things in the close foreground.

I'd try this on a nicer day and a slightly different angle/position.

The fog works well for me here - i like that it flattens the background, removing any distractions from the background. And i like the rain puddles. It's exactly how I feel about traveling on trains - my least favourite form of public transport. :) Without the mood and atmosphere I think this would be a fairly bland shot, it's the feeling of bordom and damp dankness that sets it apart.

The crop is a little tight on the top for the No4 Lamppost - that could do with just a bit of space above it. And I think it might work to crop in from the right removing the pole but keeping the line of lamps so the train disappearing into the mist is the last thing leaving the image. Not sure about cropping from the left - the light blue door is distracting as it doesn't appear elsewhere on the train so it disrupts the symetry - I think I'd consider cropping that out too. And maybe up from the bottom to where the rails make a v-point. That will tighten the composition.
Then I'd suggest adding a border and reposting at 716pixels wide so we get to see all the details

I think it's got good potential

Hmm interesting but agree with moserArtist ... still nice ;)

btw. post only one photo a day coz it hides the previous work you uploaded that day...it is good for you ;)

I took some advice and changed the image around a little. It should now be bigger and have a *widescreen* looking border. Also I took out the pole on the right and the blue door. I miss the blue door... :'(

I will be re-publishing my other pictures one per day over the next few days. I will be in the US for about 2 months so I may not be active for that time. It is for a one-time job with a friend's family.

Enjoy!!
